What is GOTS Certified Cotton and Why Do We Love it?
Transparency is important to us. We always tell you about our ethical production studio in Bali and who makes your favorite THIS IS A LOVE SONG pieces. We share with you the stories of how the products are made before they get to you and how we are planting trees in Borneo.
As a sustainable fashion brand this is our priority especially since it hasn’t been very easy to use 100% sustainable fabrics in all of our collections. Fashion and innovation is sadly not there yet. But for our new collection we did find a fabric that we have been seriously eyeing on for a while. It wasn’t available in Bali so we couldn’t get our immediate hands on it but after months and months of searching we finally scored some GOTS Certified Organic Cotton!

What is GOTS Certified Organic Cotton?
GOTS is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic, including ecological and social criteria backed up by independent certification of the the textile supply chain. GOTS certified products may include fibre products, yarns, fabrics, clothes, home textiles, mattresses, personal hygiene products and more.  In our case it is the fabrics that we use in many of our styles from the new Earth Day Collection. We incorporated two different organic cotton fabrics which is a rib and a french terry for styles such as the Dunia DressTierra SetJorden PantsMake the Planet Great Again SweaterBe Good Do Good Sweater and tote bags.
Why do we love GOTS Certified Organic Cotton?
Aside from the fact that the fabric we used is high quality, by using GOTS Certified Organic Cotton it means that we are supporting organic production that is based on a system of farming that maintains and replenishes soil fertility without the use of toxic, persistent pesticides or synthetic fertilisers. In addition, it includes welfare standards for animals too so it is better for the planet and all its living beings.
